Vintage Donald Duck 50th Birthday Novelty Animated Walking Feet Alarm Clock Box :
Vintage Donald Duck 50th Birthday Novelty Animated Walking Feet Alarm Clock Box
Up for offer and for your consideration is a vintage Donald Duck, novelty, animated, walking feet, wind-up alarmclock in the original packaging. It commemorates Donald\'s 50th birthday. Made by Bradley.
This clock would make an interesting addition to any Donald Duck or novelty clock collection.
Here are the details:
The package is 6-1/4 inches tall, 4-3/8 inches wide and a little over 2-3/8 inches deep.
The clock is seems to fit the packaging pretty snugly, and is probably just enough smaller to fit inside the box.The package is sealed in shrink wrap. This is how I acquired it and it has never been opened in my possession! The wrap has been pierced at the time/alarm set knob so the hands could be set.
There is a seal that has been affixed to the front of the package that reads: \"Birthday Commemorative Edition Donald Duck\" commemorating Donald\'s 50th Birthday! This would have been in 1984. There is also a gold seal on the back of the clock that is partially visible through the window, the same design as the front, but all in gold color.
The case is made of blue colored painted metal. The crystal seems to be plastic with a brass colored bezel. The case sits on a two peg legs on the front and, I think, a little tab foot on the back. The twin bells are painted yellow and the handle is brass colored.
The face looks to be printed on heavy paper or paper board. It is marked \"Bradley\" over the twelve. Is marked \"Donald\" and \"Duck\" on either side of Donald. And \"(C) Walt Disney Productions\" under the six.
But the really show stopping feature of this little gem, is the brightly colored Donald Duck who is printed to take up most of the face! His arms and hands are the hands of the clock and his feet rock back and forth in a walking motion by means of a pivot attached to the seconds wheel.
Donald\'s feet appear to be printed on white paper or light cardboard.
The hands look like painted metal.
The winder, time and alarm set knob, and fast/slow adjustment are located on the back of the clock and all are present.
The clock seems to work, if you rock it back and forth it will tick and the feet will walk for a few seconds. The clock has never been wound and I suspect the mainspring has totally wound down. The alarm has never been used either.
Please understand that I can not guarantee that a clock will continue to run. It is being sold with no warranty or guarantee of accuracy. Any clocks I sell are vintage and likely needs to have the movement cleaned and /or oiled. I also have no way to know how the clock is handled upon arrival. For this reason, I do not accept returns.
The back of the case is marked \"Mexico\"
The package is an open faced box sealed in shrink wrap. There is an oval cut out in the box on the back to reveal the winding key and set knob. I guess the manufacturers expected that people would break the wrap to wind the clock so they could see the workings of the feet, but no one ever did!
This clock would make an interesting addition to any Donald Duck or novelty clock collection. Maybe you know someone who would love this as a gift. Why not offer now?
