Donald's Vacation Donald Duck Reproduction Cel and Master Background (Walt Disney, 1940). Classic angry Donald is presented in this lot. This hand-inked and hand-painted reproduction cel from the 1940 Donald Duck cartoon, Donald's Vacation, is paired with a hand-painted Master background from the short. Directed by Jack Hannah and written by the "Good Duck Artist", Carl Barks, Donald decides to vacation in the great outdoors, but the woodland residents are less than co-operative. When he gets to his campsite, he unloads his kayak, fights with his E-Z folding chair, and goes to sleep. Meanwhile, the chipmunks of the forest (precursors of Chip 'n Dale), attracted by his squawking, make off with the huge pile of food he carelessly unloaded. Donald gets the attention of an angry bear, who he is soon battling before grabbing his stuff and heading back to the city. We see this fantastic Donald Duck reproduction cel around the 5:36 mark and the background at the 4:50 mark when Donald flies out of his chair.
