I was most interested in the story dealing with the first appearance of Donald Duck's Uncle Scrooge McDuck. Like his namesake in Dicken's "Christmas Carol" he too apparently had a total tightwad reputation although we had never seen him before 1946. As the story unfolds, however, we also see his fun-loving (?) and sometimes generous side in wanting to carry on his legacy with his family. Great story, even somehow foretelling his future adventures with his nephew and three grand nephews. I have been a Ducks fanatic since my first exposure in 1948 upon receiving a subscription to Disney's "Comics and Stories"! I started drawing them myself at that time and even now at 73 can still draw a passable Donald or Scrooge, even though I didn't follow the same path as Don Rosa, the best successor to the Duck's creator, the awesome Carl Barks! Long live the Disney Ducks!!Read full review
