  • Thispiece of art is simply beautiful. I havepurchased several as a special heirloom gift for my nephews. It is sturdy enough to play with and thelittle dogs and frogs in their cars really roll along the roller coaster. I felt each child should have at least one ortwo things that are unique, collectible and will remind them of me every timethey look at it. Actually, I gave theboys, 5 years old, 6 years old and 4 years old, each their own to have forever. This sculpture is beautiful, and made eachchild feel very special getting a gift that is so “adult”.

Theseare wonderful for adults as well. But sometimes, you just want to make a memorywith a child and this is that special gift that does just that!

    THE STORY:

In1885, the Czar Alexander III of Russiawanted to surprise his much beloved wife with a unique gift for their 20thwedding anniversary, which also happened to fall on the Eastercelebration. He had heard of Peter CarlFabergé, of French descent, and requested something beautiful, something uniquein all the world, and something that would convey his ever-new love for hisczarina. He suggested some type of eggbecause of an egg sculpture owned by her aunt in Denmark.

Theresult was what looked like a plain while ceramic egg. But this was no ordinary egg. There was a wonderful surprise inside. When the egg was opened, the inside was ofgold, with an indention holding a golden yolk.Once you “cracked” open the yolk, it revealed a multifaceted goldenhen. The hen, in turn, revealed anothersurprise, a small diamond carved in the image of the imperial crown. From this pendant, a ruby pendant hung.

Unfortunatelyfor the rest of us, the hen and diamond crown are no longer to be found. But the egg and yolk exist to the wonder ofall who see it.

Thisstarted a tradition by the Czar who ordered a new egg every year for hisbride. He died on November 1, 1894, tobe seceded by and was carried on by his son, Nicholas II who commissioned a newegg every year thereafter for his mother and his wife.

Manyhave carried on the tradition and inspiration of this great love story and theexquisite works of art through the years.

Havingseen the original eggs and become enamored with their beauty and artistry, artcollector and antique collector, Keren Kopal determined to create lasting worksof art with the beauty, grace, same attention to detail as the original Fabergéfactory in Russia.

TheKeren Kopal Collection was opened in 2003 employing some of the finest artisansusing handpicked Austrian/Swarovski crystal and plated with 24K gold or 925silver. Each piece, be it pendant, trinket box, animated sculpture is lovingly and individually created byhand. The crystals are examined forflaws before being chosen to be placed “just so” on each piece. Each and every sculpture is painted by handwith a process unique to this “factory”.This is not a factory in the sense things are created by machine. This is a factory of handmade artistic piecesof great beauty and style.

EveryKeren Kopal piece of art comes with a certificate of authenticity and sure tobecome a family heirloom.

Iaccept PayPal as payment and the necklace will be shipped out within three daysof receiving payment.

Iwill be listing more jewelry in the coming weeks and months and some other verybeautiful and high quality enameled boxes made in the order of the Fabergé eggfrom one of his artisans who opened a shop in Israel. So keep looking back. There will be necklaces, egg pendants, eggboxes, and other surprises that I know you will love.

Thankyou for taking the time to look at my listing.
