Disney Discontinued Item

The Disney Attractions Collection Die Cast Metal Vehicle were essentially models of Walt Disney World or Disneyland attraction vehicles and each had a character or two on board. The collection expanded to include parade and transportation vehicles as well.
These attraction vehicles are a great example of a souvenir that would appeal to kids—my sons played with these for a while—but they also appeal to adult collectors.
This die cast attraction, Splash Mountain is based on the ride in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
Splash Mountain is a log flume at Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort, based on the characters, stories, and songs from the 1946 Disney film Song of the South. There are different variations of each installation at each park but they all begin with a peaceful outdoor float-through that leads to indoor dark ride segments, with a climactic steep drop into a "briar patch" followed by an indoor finale. The drop is 50 feet.
The Walt Disney World version of Splash Mountain was the second version of the attraction developed by the company. The firm began building Walt Disney World’s Splash Mountain in 1991. The ride was completed sometime in 1992, and the company opened up the ride to the public on July 17th, 1992, three years after the Disneyland edition opened. The July 1992 opening for the ride was a “soft opening” where the ride was opened to only a select number of guests. The attraction was opened to the entire public on October 1st or 2nd, 1992. Since 1992, the ride has continued operations and is one of the most popular attractions in the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World.
